INOC Canada Chapter is a part of Indian National Congress. Like its parent organisation , it stands for democracy, secularism human solidarity and international co-operation. INOC also functions as a forum for NRIs residing in Canada.INOC and assumes a role similar to a goodwill ambassador, promoting India’s image as a secular democratic country here in Canada and abroad.

Since it's inception on 28 December 1885 till the time of independence of India on August 15, 1947, the Indian National Congress was the largest and most prominent Indian public organization, and central and defining influence of the Indian Independence Movement

Some prominent Congress leaders include Mahatama Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Jawaharlal Nehru, Rajendra Prasad, Chakravarti Rajagopalachari, Narhari Parikh, Mahadev Desai, Chittaranjan Das, Subhas Chandra Bose, Srinivasa Iyengar, Indira Gandhi and Rajeev Gandhi
